BioPorto introduces The NGAL Test at the ASN Renal Week 2009, October 27 – November 1, San Diego

October 16 2009  by Ana Belén Enfedaque Buisán

The ASN Renal Week is the world’s most significant nephrology meeting devoted to the latest advances in nephrology research, clinical care and education. More than 13,000 doctors, scientists and other healthcare professionals from all over the world are expected to take part in the congress.

Over the past few years NGAL has been established as a promising new biomarker for diagnosing acute kidney injury and therefore, one could not think of a better venue for BioBorto to introduce its latest addition to the NGAL portfolio; The NGAL Test*. The test is designed for routine diagnostics on open high throughput apparatus that already exists in hospitals. This secures that the test will be readily available to doctors world wide after launch scheduled early 2011.

The overall theme for this year’s meeting includes major areas in basic, translational, and clinical sciences. In particular, four featured topics will be highlighted: Epithelial Transport and Cell Biology; Renal Immunology and Transplantation; New Insights into Glomerular Structure and Function; and Kidney Development and Stem Cells.

The American Society of Nephrology (ASN) is the world’s largest organization dedicated to the study and practice of nephrology. This October, the 42nd Annual Meeting of the American Society of Nephrology will be held in San Diego.

The NGAL product line from BioPorto Diagnostics includes ELISA kits for research and in vitro diagnostics as well as a wide selection of reagents for use in animal models which include antibodies against human, mouse, rat, monkey, dog and pig NGAL.
